Abundant thanks at this Holiday Season to Lower Moreland’s “Community Links” committee who voted to award the library $3000.00 for the purchase of a new Children’s Literacy Station for use in the Children’s Room and two scanners and some “mice” to be used at the Circulation Desk.

The computers will be stand-alone, feature a child-sized mouse and indestructible keyboard, and be complete with learning games for ages 2 through 8. Initially, use will be allotted by time, but it is hoped that we soon can find the funds for another station. The computer, available in many Philadelphia and Bucks County libraries, does not need library technical support. It is essentially “plug-in and use”.

To any regular user of the library it is not unusual to find the staff person checking out books to “bang” the temperamental scanners on the desk to get them to work.
