If you've ever wanted to do something positive for the library, but just don't have the time to volunteer, I'd like to suggest an easy way to assist that will do wonders for the library. Please consider becoming an active member of our Adopt-A-Magazine Program. According to our periodicals supplier, subscriptions rates are increasing an average of 9-11 percent per year. We would like to not only maintain those subscriptions that we already have in place, but at times consider the addition of new ones for which we see a possible need or interest among our library users.

As an area business or resident, you can make an important investment in your library by agreeing to pay for a three-year magazine subscription for the library. Those who pay for a subscription will be recognized with a sticker attached to the magazine cover. A business card may also be attached to make readers aware of your company's products and services. Any donation to the Huntingdon Valley Library is tax-deductible.

A list of current periodical titles up for adoption is available at the library or on our website (www.HVLibrary.org). Prices for a three-year subscription range from $48 for a women's magazine to almost $1,000 for a weekly science periodical. I'd be happy to help you match your interests to a title we already own in the collection, or can also discuss with you adopting a new title, filling a need in an area where we are lacking.
